LSM timing program: The older Letter Sorting Machines at the USPS have analog meters to show machine speed in letters-per-minute. Many grievances were filed when the meters were inaccurate and the machines were running in excess of 60 LPM. Conversely, each LPM it showed short would reduce throughput by 720 letters per hour. I reverse-engineered the ROM-based TMS9900 software and wrote a routine to time the machine precisely using the computer clock, then the analog meter would be set to that speed.
